Festive Treat Cart & Talented Resident Pianists

January 15th, 2021

Since we couldn’t gather for big group activities during the holiday season, we made the rounds with our festive treat cart on several occasions. Santa even came by to help out one time! 🎅

We have a few talented pianists in our Memory Care at Arbor Lakes Senior Living, and we love hearing them play! 🎹🎼

Here’s a quick clip of one of our Memory Care residents showing of her talent on the piano!

A Week of Fun Activities at Arbor Lakes Senior Living

September 25th, 2020

This was a week filled with fun activities at Arbor Lakes Senior Living! We held an exhibit showing off the crafty and artistic talent in our building, as well as our first group activity (safely and socially distanced, of course) in months!

This week we held a “craft and hobby” exhibit here at Arbor Lakes Senior Living. We filled our dining room with handmade items from our residents and staff, creating an INCREDIBLE display of their talents! The exhibit featured quilts, paintings, stained glass creations, fishing equipment, books, and many other fun, beautiful pieces. We have so much talent in our community, so we made sure to take lots of photos to share. Check it out!

Tuesday was full of fun here at Arbor Lakes Senior Living! We kicked it off with hot, fresh-cooked breakfast delivered right to the residents’ front doors. Later, with extra safety measures put in place and carefully followed, we held our first organized group activity in several months with bingo! Although the game may have been a little different to maintain social distancing, everyone loved the opportunity to join together for some fun!

Save The Date: 2019 Walk to End Alzheimer’s

September 20th, 2019

On September 28, Arbor Lakes Senior Living and the Southview Senior Communities team will be joining the Alzheimer’s Association Minnesota-North Dakota for the 2019 Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Target Field. There are 5.8 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s today, and that number is projected to rise to nearly 14 million by 2050. We’d love your help as we work to raise awareness, reduce risk, and eliminate Alzheimer’s through research and care. Learn more about donating and/or registering to walk. Together, we can fight to end Alzheimer’s!

Here are some photos from last year’s walk.

National Night Out and Other Summer Activities

August 16th, 2019

We can’t believe it’s already halfway through August! We’ve been enjoying the sunshine and warm weather. Check out photos from our National Night Out and other summer activities!

We took a walk to Central Park in Maple Grove last week to enjoy summertime snacks and the joy of the children in the splash pad. It’s hard to say who had more fun – the kids in the water or the tenants relaxing and taking in the good times!

Andy Nelson joined the activities team this summer as an Activities Assistant. So far he’s been leading musical programs for our memory care tenants and played piano in the lobby for everyone. We are lucky to have him as part of our team here at Arbor Lakes!

The National Night Out celebration here at Arbor Lakes included ice cream treats, a visit from the Maple Grove Police and Fire Departments, and a great Barbershop Quartet performance by Note’orious! We are so proud to be a part of the great city of Maple Grove with its sense of community and everything it has to offer!

Casino Tropicale!

July 25th, 2017

Arbor Lakes Senior Living Tenants and Families had a great time at the “Casino Tropicale”! They could roll up their sleeves and try their luck at Poker, Black Jack, Roulette, Craps, Horseracing, the Bingo Parlor, and the Lady Luck Wheel. They also could stop by the “Tradewinds Oasis” for refreshing drink and snacks. At the end of the event, they traded their poker chips for raffle tickets and a chance to win one of the many great prizes! Prizes were donated by several of the local businesses and restaurants.

A very special thank you goes out to Stephanie Zukowski and Katie Satalino, our dynamic summer Interns, for all of their hard work and time committed to planning and making this great event happen. We also could not have done it without the support of the many volunteers including some of the Interim staff that volunteered their time as well. A huge thank you to all of you! We look forward to another evening at the Casino Tropicale next year. Until then, let the good times roll……….
